I have studied botanical illustration under Leigh Ann Gale since 2014. In 2018 I enrolled on the Diploma in Botanical Illustration at the Chelsea School of Botanical Art, tutored by Helen Allen, and in 2020 I graduated with distinction.
I produced botanical field studies for City of London Corporation (City Commons) for my final Diploma Project, “A Year on the Commons”. This study allowed me to develop experience of working to a brief, working in the field and producing scientific plates for reference. My portfolio of botanical illustration can be accessed here.
As well as botanical painting and drawing, I produce digital illustrations. My illustrative work always begins with pencil drawings on paper, before moving onto a computer for layering, colour and composition. I am exploring the use of my designs for fabrics as well as cards and prints. The inspiration for my work is often found in my own garden or local area. The products page will show you more images and examples of my designs on fabric. I also have a range of cards and prints available.
I am also a teacher and currently teach art and ICT at Moon Hall School, Reigate to pupils from Y3 to Y11.
