I’ve been wanting to paint a selection of winter twigs for while now and one of my classes this term gave me the chance to focus on this.

I worked fairly quickly on this layout, creating outline drawings and then developing a composition using tracings.

I’ve enjoyed working on the variety of colours and textures in these twigs and the final piece is near to completion – time to put it away for a week before I look at it again to finish it off.
